OTTAWA—What started as a Movember charity initiative to raise money for prostate cancer—a campaign where men grow moustaches during the month of November—has turned into a creative project at Ottawa-based advertising agency McMillan.

Thanks Design Edge!

That’s incredible! You guys really have gone above and beyond the call of duty by using such initiative and enthusiasm to beef up your Movember Campaign.
The moustaches all look great, you should be very proud of such epic growth.
Please pass on our thanks to all the McMillan crew as you have done an outstanding Job.

Thanks for all your support

Rollie Fingers

I had the honor of meeting Rollie Fingers last year in NYC. He still has his trademark ’stache, albeit much more grey. Amazing that he used to PITCH with that thing on his face.

Ah, June, you make me swoon…

January 22nd, 2010 by John

June is a fabulous month. It’s the month you want to linger in, capriciously caressing its drowsy days, langourously lolling through its mellifluous moments. When you’re in June, you’re in heaven. When June is in you . . .

Here are just a few reasons June rox:

  • June is Adopt-a-Cat Month in the U.S.
  • June 9 is Dance with your Neighbour Day
  • Russian independence is celebrated in June
  • Turkeys are lauded worldwide during Turkey Lover’s Month
  • The Montgolfier’s first took to the air on June 5th, 1783
  • It is the birthday of Donald Duck, Oscar the Grouch, Judy Garland, Aesop, Johannes Gutenberg, Captain Kangaroo, and Superman
  • It is also the birthday of my brother (18th) and my girlfriend Mary (14th)

I bet you can find at least one more in the calendar. ;^)

Here’s a little vintage ’stache to warm you up:

The Moustache Calendars are IN

January 20th, 2010 by Lance T. Selleck

…and they look smashing. Here’s a few of the McMillan Movember hunks (and breathless female admirer Kate Cartwright) checking out the hot shots.

Movember Hunks

Thanks to the men who posed for the photographs featured in the calendar, and of course to Mike Zavacky (creative direction/design), Edie Van Alstine and James Marchington (proofing/editing), Jared Young and Cory Haggart (writing), Darren Holmes (calendar photography/music/video/website), Nancy Boland and Andrée Fournier (production art) and Eric Rochon (photo editing/retouching) for putting this together. We also had photography equipment donated by Ottawa Photographer Lawrence Callender and Guerilla Magazine owner/editor Tony Martins which made the calendar shoot possible. And a huge thanks to Ron Boyle, our moustachioed pressman and the team at Lowe-Martin.
